The heart speaks a language that all of us know. Things are always changing, coming in and out of existence and the heart records the movement. What is the distance from one heart to another? I am fascinated by the states of consciousness that exist within and among us. Always moving, never static, they are defined by change. I create images that are inspired by nature, but altered through my imagination.
In this series, called 'red movements', I looked at change, which I see as movements, through the lense of the color red and a flower motif. Using digital media and a diptych format, I looked at the distance from dark to light, opacity to transparency, and from flat graphic imagery to the illusion of three dimensions.
